550 Maranello
Indianapolis
456 GTA
On the cover: an unusual photograph of the 550 Maranello, the star of the production Ferrari for the year 1996. A great car that will be produced to the year 2000 and beyondand is endowed with a classic body, designed as usual by Pininfarina, mated to the technological perfection that is expected from the cars with the "prancing horse" emblem.
Ferrari counterattacks: 1996 was the year that saw the dramatic overturning of the situation in F1 so that the Scuderia could get the second place in the Constructor World Championship and Schumacher getting third place in the drivers Championship.
As far as the product is concerned there have been two presentations of very important types such as the 456 GTA and the 550 Maranello: we describe here both cars as usual most accurately and in depth as is possible for the joy of the "ferraristi".
For the history we offer a report of some hitherto untold stories concerning the attempts by Ferrari to race in the classical Indianapolis 500 miles.
